Rachel and I stopped by Butter Lane yesterday to see co-owner Maria Baugh and try some of the new cupcake offerings.
Counterfolks Lauren Henry and Eric Hoop helped us out:
We were there to try the newest flavor to the lineup, chocolate chip cookie dough!
It's chocolate cake with cookie dough filling (baked in!) and cookie dough frosting.
SO good! The cake was standard chocolate cake but the creamy dough-y filling lent it some texture and "goo" and the frosting wasn't too sweet.
Maria says it's the cupcake the devil creates in his kitchen. Agreed!
We also tried the inside-out, a frozen cupcake treat:
Cookie dough filling made it yummy and the frozen chocolate cake was moist and chewy. Rachel thought it was brownie-esque, and I agree. A cakelike brownie.
