Sushi Ice Cream Cupcakes!

Posted by Unknown at 4:01 PM

Sushi cupcakes -- so cute! Available during the month of June only (so hurry!) from Marble Slab Creamery and MaggieMoo’s Ice Cream and Treatery. Topped with coconut flakes “rice” and gummy candy to look (mostly) like sushi rolls. Made with a yellow cake base and (either chocolate or vanilla) ice cream, topped with a dab of frosting, coconut flakes and gummy candies.

Price: $8.99 for 4 pack and $12.99 for 6 pack. I had a dozen gifted to me from the company (thanks guys!) and we plowed through them in two hours flat. And then we wanted more. The hazy, hot and humid days of NYC's summer beg for treats like these.

Beware, though, they are messy -- the coconut flakes get everywhere, the ice cream melts fast in the heat (even the heat of your hands) and the frozen gummy worm on top could snap a tooth, but the joy of biting through the ice cream cupcake and tasting all the flavors in your mouth together is a pretty wonderful experience. Like an extra-awesome ice cream cake slice. I slightly preferred the vanilla sweet-cream ice cream flavor but the chocolate was also yummy. These are perfect for a kid's party, or after-dinner treats for kids and grownups who feel like kids. Delicious!
