Red velvet waffle cones, red velvet cupcake topping, cupcake ice cream sandwiches, root beer floats and more at Sprinkles Ice Cream grand opening today in Beverly Hills

Posted by Unknown at 6:36 AM 0 comments
I'll share more soon about why the hot cupcake trend of 2012 is cupcakes and ice cream, with bakeries incorporating ice cream into their shops in all sorts of ways, but right now I want to tell you about today's Beverly Hills opening at 10 a.m. of Sprinkles Ice Cream, located at 9631 South Santa Monica Boulevard, adjacent to the original Sprinkles Cupcakes bakery and the 24-hour Sprinkles Cupcake ATM. Their website says national shipping is coming soon. You can get a root beer float, various flavors of ice cream (see below), and an ice cream sandwich where the ice cream is sandwiched between cupcakes or a red velvet waffle cone. You can follow them at @sprinklesicecrm on Twitter for the latest news. Their hours are Thursday-Saturday 10-11 and Sunday-Wednesday 10-10, and they can be reached at icecream at sprinkles.com or 310-274-7890. If anyone visits this week and wants to write a guest post about it, email us at cupcakestakethecake at gmail.com with "Guest Post" in the subject line.

These photos are from Sprinkles Ice Cream's Facebook page, where I learned:
Keeping with Sprinkles modern aesthetic, architect Andrea Lenardin designed a new take on the old fashioned scoop shop. Sprinkles Ice Cream is blanketed with white corian and penny tile offset by rich pops of red. While “chilling” on the spacious indoor-outdoor bench, ice cream enthusiasts will delight in decoding Thomas Jefferson’s ice cream recipe inked onto the overhead rotunda.
Here are the ice cream flavors they're offering: banana, butter pecan, cap'n crunch, cherry vanilla, chocolate chip, chocolate sorbet (dairy free), coffee, coffee almond fudge, dark chocolate, malted milk chocolate, mint chip, peanut butter, pistachio, Sprinkles Red Velvet, rocky road, salty caramel, strawberry, strawberry sorbet (dairy free), triple chocolate, vanilla bean. Cookie flavors are: chocolate chip, double chocolate, peanut butter pretzel chip, salted oatmeal cornflake, snickerdoodle, fudge brownie.

This photo perfectly expresses how I feel when I get a cupcake

How can you not love this photo of a little girl doing a happy dance after getting a cupcake from the first (and so far, only) Sprinkles Cupcakes' Cupcake ATM in Beverly Hills? It's part of a contest they're hosting on their Facebook page: post a photo of you at the Cupcake ATM by May 31, 2012, at 11:59 PST and you could win 5 dozen cupcakes! The Cupcake ATM is located at 9635 South Santa Monica Boulevard, next to the first Sprinkles bakery as well as the new Sprinkles Ice Cream (this is the year of cupcakes and ice cream, and we'll have more on their convergence soon). I hope the New York City Cupcake ATM gets here sooner rather than later. Also, the ATM now sells pupcakes, as evidenced below, though I am pretty sure a dog wouldn't know how to operate the ATM (via @cupcakeatm on Twitter).

Sprinkles Ice Cream Opening May 24!

Recognize that famous dot? Though it may be little, it is fierce and has become infamous nationwide! Sprinkles, famously known for their cupcakes is branching out into the ice cream world, thus the fancy cone you see above.

Sprinkles Ice Cream is set to open next door to it's cupcake counterpart on May 24. Sandwiched between the two shops is the ever so popular Cupcake ATM. In addition to introducing house churned ice cream to their repertoire, this new Sprinkles shop will be selling homemade brownies and cookies! Aside from getting your ice cream in the standard waffle cone or cup, Sprinkles Ice Cream offers their ice cream stuff between two fluffy cupcake tops!

Head over to the grand opening and taste Sprinkles Ice Cream for yourself! You can keep up to date on all things Sprinkles Ice Cream via their facebook.

The Sprinkles Cupcakes' 24-hour cupcake ATM officially launched in Beverly Hills on March 6th, with three more planned for New York City this summer and cupcake ATMs in other cities where Sprinkles operates bakeries in the next year. Candace Nelson, co-owner of Sprinkles and Cupcake Wars judge, demonstrates how it works! (See Lucy Blodgett's Huffington Post video here).

Here's what the cupcake ATM looks like:

And here are Sprinkles' Easter cupcakes:
