Posted by Unknown at 2:00 PM 0 comments
Tomorrow night Seattle's Trophy Cupcakes hosts a Father's Day cupcake decorating class at their Wallingford location, where you'll learn how to make their new flavor, also launching tomorrow, Chocolate Bourbon Bacon Brittle! See Facebook for details on the class and call 206-390-0900 to sign up. See trophycupcakes.com for more information on their various locations and custom orders. The class is $50 and here are the details:
Join our Head Decorator (aka Confection Creator, Fun Curator & Magician of mmmm), Nicole Familetti, for a night of hands on decorating instruction in a party atmosphere that will include cupcakes, prosecco, yummy hors d'oeuvres and lots of fun!

Students of this class will learn how to make our adorable "Shirt & Tie" Cupcakes, how to hand pipe Manly Mustaches and the tricks behind our perfectly domed cupcakes. If that weren't enough, students will also be decorating our newest flavor, Chocolate Bourbon Bacon Brittle Cupcakes, which launches that very day!

Students will also learn the basics of using pastry bags and tips, how to hand-frost with an offset spatula, how to create professional looking cupcakes, how to make custom colors of sparkly sanding sugar and the tricks of the trade that make Trophy’s Cupcakes so stunning. In addition to receiving cupcake-decorating instruction, Nicole and her team will also share recipe tips and Trophy secrets.

Each guest will decorate and take home four cupcakes in a signature Trophy box along with an instructional packet to help them practice at home. This class is appropriate for beginners. Children are welcome, we do recommend that they are over 8 year old so they have the strength to squeeze a pastry bag.

Seattle Stringer Shoots Some Trophy Cupcake Shots

Posted by Unknown at 12:00 PM 0 comments

From our shutter stringer out in the tiny fishing village of Seattle comes this sweet shot of a Neapolitan cupcake from Trophy Cupcakes.

Neapolitan - Trophy Cupcakes & Party

Muffin, eater of the cupcake and wife of WoM, reports that the chocolate cake, strawberry and vanilla buttercream frosted and cherry-topped cupcake was "good" and that she "liked the cherry the best." While "not into chocolate cake or buttercream, [she] thought it was well executed." Opines the photog, "I think Trophy seemed moister than PinkaBella, and little tastier, but less creative."

Here's another beautiful Trophy Cupcake cupcake:

Sunflower - Trophy Cupcakes & Party

I can only image how a dozen or so of these would look at a party, or how excited I would be if someone brought me one of these on a rainy day.  WoM reports, "[m]oist chocolate cake, delicious buttercream frosting and bittersweet chocolate chips."

I love that Seattle loves cupcakes so much!

Want to make the best dressed and most popular lists at any party? Put on your cupcake dress!

Posted by Unknown at 6:17 AM 0 comments
Seriously, how could you not be the star of wherever you are wearing this cupcake dress? Plus there are mini hi hat cupcakes on it! Created by Seattle's Trophy Cupcakes and worn last night at the Voracious Tasting event at The Paramount! Via Trophy Cupcakes on Facebook. I wonder how heavy it was?

Trophy also made caramel cupcakes for National Caramel Day. Actually, they were more than just "caramel cupcakes," they were salted caramel stroop waffel cupcakes!! And a reminder: tomorrow, Saturday, April 7th, from 11:30-1, Cupcakes Take the Cake is hosting a meetup at Trophy Cupcakes' Wallingford Center Party Room, 1815 N. 45th Street. Rachel (me) will be on hand to talk cupcakes, our cupcake cruise to Bermuda in August and enjoy flavors like hi hat (yum!), lemon meringue, chocolate hazelnut Nutella and others. $10 gets you 5 mini cupcakes. Details on Facebook. Visit trophycupcakes.com for ordering and location information and follow them @TrophyCupcakes on Twitter for the latest news.

We are honored to welcome back Rachel Kramer Bussel to our party room for a Cupcake Meetup on April 7th! Rachel is founding editor of Cupcakes Take the Cake, known around the world not only for being at the forefront of cupcake news but also for their active involvement in the cupcake community.

What is a Cupcake Meetup you ask? It's an opportunity for enthusiasts to get together and talk everything cupcake with Rachel and Trophy's founder, baker and party-maker, Jennifer Shea. Of course eating cupcakes is also on the agenda. Attendees will try Trophy's only-one-a-year Hi-Hat Cupcake, April's Special Flavor, Lemon Meringue Pie, Chocolate Hazelnut with Nutella Buttercream...and other special treats baked up just for the event.

We encourage you to take photos, check-in on Foursquare and let us know which flavors are your favorite. One lucky attendee will win a dozen Trophy Cupcakes and a Trophy Party Loot Bag!

Not run by Trophy, but of possible interest, Saturday at 10 am there is also a Easter Egg Hunt at Wallingford Center, and if you're having a party at Trophy or just want custom cupcakes, like these Muppets ones, they can do it! And their new lemon meringue cupcake is made of: "Lemon Cake sits atop a buttery graham cracker crust and is filled with house-made Lemon Curd...then it's topped with toasted marshmallow meringue!"
