Whether or not you like bulldogs, you'll like this bulldog cupcake
Adorable! This cupcake is the kind of cupcake that makes me happy to be a cupcake blogger and get to see this. Hope it puts a smile on your face! It's by blogger blempgorf, who writes, "The 'bulldog' has marshmallow jowls, chocolate chip nose and pupils, graham cracker ears, and the rest is buttercream frosting." Photo via Flickr.

Bookworm "dirt" cupcakes, "reading rainbow" cupcakes, wise owls, lions and ladybugs for a kids' story hour by JannaBee's
CupcakeCamp Boston is coming up this Monday, May 21st, and on their website they've been profiling various bakers whose cupcakes will be available, and one of them was custom dessert company JannaBee's, which led me to their Facebook page and these adorable cupcakes! The first few cupcakes and the pretzel ladybug (not a cupcake, but I couldn't resist, plus I could see mini versions of these ladybug pretzels, or other painted pretzels, as cupcake toppers!) were from a special order for Story Stomp, whose official description is: "Story Stomp is an event for families with children up to age 12 that fuses the imaginative worlds of reading, music, and dance." I love that they took the theme of reading and ran with it: reading rainbows, book worms, wise owls, between the lions and lucky ladybugs!
Their full list of cupcake flavors can be found here. I'll share just a few of their top shelf specialty flavors: blueberry pie, caramel peanut candy bar, chocolate salted caramel, coffee toffee, key lime pie, maple walnut, mocha madness, peachy keen, raspberry lime rickey, strawberry cheesecake. JannaBee's is based in Malden, Massachusetts, and can be reached at jannabees at aol.com or 339-224-8785.

check out the whiskers on these lions!

I know this isn't a cupcake, but it's a ladybug pretzel! Come on, can you resist its cuteness?

Follow the cupcake fish cake and find out how to make your own
I love a good cupcake cake; they are simple, in a way, but so much fun and so creative and delightful. Who wouldn't stop to look at a fish cake made of cupcakes? And there's something about seeing it before the process starts that really makes it pop. Visit My Cake School to find out how to go from this:

The cutest cupcakes you'll see all day
And if you see cuter ones, email them to us! (cupcakestakethecake at gmail.com) Seriously, I know Easter is over but I just stumbled across these hatching chick cupcakes by blogger Buttercream Blondie and am just in awe. She writes:
In my world chicks hatch out of sparkly eggs with little flowers, but that's just me! I made their little beaks out of orange fondant, but you could also use a small orange jelly bean. To make the eyes, I dipped a toothpick in black food coloring and drew them on. Their eyes give them a charming look, and the little fondant flower on top is my little finishing touch. I'm really happy with how they turned out, and they're a fun project for Easter or any Spring themed party!
