The latest cupcake high heels
These glam, fun, star-adorned cupcake high heels are by Cupcakes by M.E. in Central Pennsylvania, via their Facebook page, the latest addition to the high heel cupcake craze started by Karen Tack and Alan Richardson in their cookbook Cupcakes, Cookies & Pie, Oh My! That reminds me that I never blogged about the fun class I took with them in which we learned exactly how to make our own; I'll post that this week! I'll never get over how glamorous a cookie heel can be. Find out more about Cupcakes by M.E. at cupcakesbyme.com and contact them at cupcakesbyme at gmail.com or 717-421-8974.

The wait is over! The Hello, Cupcake! app by bestselling authors Karen Tack and Alan Richardson (Hello, Cupcake!, What's New, Cupcake? and Cupcakes, Cookies and Pie, Oh My!) is here! Download it for the iPad or iPhone using from the Apple store. I saw a prototype when I took a class from Karen and Alan a few weeks ago and it walks you through literally every step of the process. You click on an image and are shown how to decorate the cupcake. Pretty cool! Here's some sample screenshots:

Cupcake decorating class
by bestselling authors Karen Tack and Alan Richardson (Hello, Cupcake, What's New, Cupcake? and Cupcakes, Cookies & Pie, Oh My!)

Karen Tack and Alan Richardson are on board to show you how to use candy and snacks to magically transform your cupcakes into masterpieces of fun. Starting with their all-time classic, Spaghetti and Meatball cupcakes, they will show you how to become a Candy Detective and discover a whole new way of decorating cupcakes. You will learn the inside scoop on techniques that transform your candies into fanciful decorations, like turning marshmallows into everything from sparkling flower petals to chocolate wool for a Baa Baa Black Sheep. Come find out why the only thing better than a cupcake and buttercream is if it also looks like a high heel shoe!
Cupcake recipe development seminar
by Baked owners and cookbook authors Matt Lewis and Renato Poliafito

Cookbook authors and bakery owners Matt Lewis and Renato Poliafito will talk about recipe development. Much like food writing, recipe development is taking what inspires you and telling a story with food. They will talk about the importance of reading cookbooks, tinkering with recipes and being inspired by ingredients. Recipe development seminar will also cover testing ideas, scaling up, making notes of what works, and finding the personality in each recipe.
Master baking class
by Allison and Matt Robicelli of Robicelli's Cupcakes

Want to know WHY your cake rises, or why the temperature of your butter and eggs matter? Want to learn the differences between different types of flours, chocolates, butters and more? Join classically trained chefs and baking nerds Allison & Matt Robicelli for a master class, where they will break down the steps of cake making, thoroughly explaing the science, technique, and reasons behind it all.
