Brooklyn Bridge wedding cupcakes
For those who live in Brooklyn or just love the BK, check out these very special wedding cupcakes, paired with a cake, for Brianna and Peter's wedding held at Brooklyn Bridge Park. They feature an illustration of the Brooklyn Bridge, as well as the wedding date and bride and groom's names, and are by New York City custom dessert company Man Bakes Cake, via their Facebook page. The colors on hte 150 cupcake toppers matched the rest of their wedding theme; the bride used a picture board for inspiration. See more photos from this wedding here. Contact the man of Man Bakes Cake, Rudy Martinez, about custom orders at martinez_rudy at msn.com and find out more at manbakescake.blogspot.com/.

Cake Joy's Cinnamon Bun Cupcake With Horchata Frosting
Sunday morning, I was checking Facebook and a status update from Cake Joy caught my eye. It was announcing a new cupcake flavor, Cinnamon Bun with Horchata frosting and Rum soaked raisins. I had to go try it! Cake Joy is located at 364 Myrtle Avenue which is north and east of where I live in Brooklyn and takes either two buses or one subway and a long walk to get there. It was worth the walk in the humidity. The cupcake was delicious! The horchata frosting was amazing, and cinnamon bun has enough spice to make it great. Although the rum soaked raisins were a bit much for me at first, they tasted better as I ate them with the cupcake than the frosting.
Cake Joy has lot of flavors. Some are daily and some are on rotation. Follow on Twitter to find out cupcake flavors. Many of the cupcakes have liquor in them like the Cognac Rosalie or the Mango Colada. This may be why the cupcakes are $4/piece. It's a small indulgence.

Bakery Visit: The Treats Truck Stop In Brooklyn
I first met Kim Ima, the owner of The Treats Truck over five years ago when she first started driving Sugar, her dessert truck. She is one of the early pioneers in the local New York food truck movement. Last fall, The Treats Truck Baking Book was published and less than a month ago, her first storefront, The Treats Truck Stop (521 Court Street) opened in Brooklyn.

I stopped by the new place last weekend and I sampled many treats. There are brownies, blondies, cookies, cupcakes, rice krispie treats and more!

I loved the red vinyl chairs!

Even the writing on the bathroom wall is cute
